Wellbeing

Emotional wellbeing is vital to good learning. At Clore Shalom we teach children about achieving emotional wellbeing and how important it is to their lives.  Our Pastoral Lead oversees the support that we give children with needs in this area and runs our Nurture Group provision every Tuesday morning. We use a range of strategies to support children in class including quiet corners and time outs where needed.  We have a dedicated Wellness Lead who works to deliver interventions to those who need support with behaviour, anger or emotional regulation and she also provides a Mental Health First Aid service in school when needed.

We run a range of whole school activities to educate children about mental wellbeing and our weekly Flourish assembly focuses on staying well in the modern world.  World Mental Health Day, Safer Internet Day and Anti-Bullying week are all opportunities for us to deliver this key message and equip our children to become confident, valued and contributing members of society in the future.

Wellbeing leads

Our year 6 wellbeing leaders have created useful playground activities and ideas for children based on the five ways of wellbeing: connect with others, get active; take notice; learn and give.

Please see the links below for some useful websites with some great tips on how to help your child cope with grief.

We also recommend the following books:
